This man made lake is part of the Colorado River, and is over 63 miles long. Boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming… this lake has it all. From quiet coves to bustling bays, Lake Travis is a vacation destination that is popular with Austin natives and tourists alike. This lake was created as a reservoir and flood control, and the lake level can vary from year to year, or sometimes even day to day.
